The season of Lent is forty days that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. The purpose of Lent is the preparation of the believer for Easter through prayer, doing penance, repentance of sins, almsgiving (gifts for the poor), and self-denial.

This year we will join together as a church family and give generously to a Love Offering. We will receive the Love Offering for Lent beginning March 6 through April 10.

I encourage each of you to make the sacrifice to give generously to this offering – above your tithe.

Our Love Offering will make it possible to partner with local organizations that serve those that are food insecure in our community in a sustainable way. Love Offering for Lent will be equally divided and given to Meals on Wheels and the local Food Bank.

I pray that each of you may practice a Holy Lent as you give to our Love Offering so that others may be more secure in their ability to feed their family.
